March 24, 2008

The printing press of the St. Cloud Visitor is destroyed by a mob because the paper’s editor, Jane Grey Swisshelm, a feminist and abolitionist, had angered Sylvanus B. Lowry, a local businessman and slave owner.

Thanks also to Minnesota’s Learn and Serve America Service Learning Program for their help.
