Sen. Williams Dean offers a resolution in the Minnesota Senate that the “Wild Lady-Slipper” or “Moccasin Flower” be named the state flower. The resolution was adopted in both houses. In 1902 a resolution changing it to the Pink and White Lady Slipper was adopted after it was found the Wild Lady Slipper did not grow in MN.
